How to remove water from a canister, underwater?
Ive being studding forms of Hydroelectricity. Im thinking that if you were to submerged a funnel shape container under a large body of water, and place a turbine within it, it could generate electricity, by the constant stream of water coming out of the top, and emptying via the much larger bottom, as the falling stream of water spins the turbine.
However, while this structure is submerged underwater, how would the water inside the container by removed back into the body of water, without means such as pumping, which would reduce the efficacy of the turbines electrical output.
Looks to me like you're trying to invent the perpetual motion machine! If you're tapping energy from the system, you must ask yourself where it's coming from. If you're having to put more than a 'pump-priming' amount of energy in, then it won't work. That's the laws of thermodynamics.
If the energy comes from the flow of the water, e.g. a river or the tide, that's easy ... and it's been done before (many HEP dams, and the French tidal power stations). I'm sure that damming the stream and forcing all the water to pass the turbine would be much more efficient than, effectively, placing 'underwater windmills' in a free-flowing stream, though these would undoubtedly generate some power.
