Will the Sandisk Ultra II plus (usb) SD card fit in my Canon sd600?
I am thinking of buying a Canon sd600 (ixus 60) digital camera, and have read some excellent reviews of the Sandisk Ultra II SD cards. The read and write speeds are supposed to be amazing, and that would be necessary to take full advantage of the great video capability of the camera.
I want to get the plus/usb version (1GB) which allows you to plug the card in directly to any computer with a usb port, without a card reader. But the problem is that I have read in places that people have problems with the card getting stuck in their cameras, presumably because it is a little thicker or wider. These people have had to use surgical/razor blades to remove them!!!
Has anyone here used the Ultra II plus (usb) card with this camera, and if so what has been your experience?
I am not quite getting the exact answer I need, so here's an addendum: What I mean to ask is whether the card would physically fit in my camera? For some people it has got stuck in their cameras.
Your camera will accept a maximum sized card of 2GB.
I'm not sure about the plus/usb version, as I always transfer my photos to the pc via the USB cable. This negates the need to always take the card out of camera every time I want to upload photos.
The Sandisk Ultra II is an excellent card. I would definitely recommend it for fast camera performance, especially when shooting 'movies' and transferring photos to the pc.
In regards to the ultra II plus getting stuck...sorry I do not know, (perhaps you should ask Sandisk or a camera service centre for those questions) but if you are real concerned about it then a card reader is very cheap to buy...or my preferred method is to just plug the camera into the pc via a USB which is much easier.
