![]() I have a Haier Preference Plus Series Model HWR12XCR Air conditioner, I dont understand the temp/time display. I want my studio to be as cold as possible so i pressed the arrow down button to the last number thinking its the coldest but I guess im not entering the correct temp. You probably have the temperature set to the "Coldest" setting, but you A/C cannot get you apartment any colder than it is doing. Most A/C units of that size (12,000 BTU of cooling power) are designed to cool as much as 400-500 square feet of area (assuming you are in ideal circumstances eg: no windows, and the temperture is not "scorching" outside. Most unit's will only cool your home as much as 10-20% cooler than the OUTSIDE temperature. So don't be suprised if your apartment is not getting to cold in the summer, because it CANT. I can only assume your apartment is much larger than 500 square feet. Your best bet is to close off other rooms in your apartment to cool a smaller area. It's likely your AC is "Undersized" for the area you are trying to cool. Good luck, Dan Electronics/Appliance Manager 15 years |
